Business Coaching

Compassionate. Unwavering. Knowledgeable.

“When you know better, you do better.” –Maya Angelou

In 2005, after 23 years of meritorious military service under the Departments of the United States Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines and Coast Guard, I launched JTJ Resources Inc. to leverage my inside network and knowledge of federal government protocols to seek and secure relevant government contracts. As a result of my intentional efforts and well-seasoned expertise, I have been blessed with building a successful business while earning the following coveted certifications:

  • A graduate of the SBA 8A program with SBA set-asides: 8(a) Participant; Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB); HUBZone Small Business; 8(m) Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB);
  • Department of Transportation Certifications: Minority Business Enterprise (MBE); Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE);
  • The Center for Veterans Enterprise (Department of Veterans Affairs) Certifications: Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB); Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB)

I’ve also learned and gained even greater hands-on knowledge, insights and experience in what it takes to effectively navigate the process, partner and be awarded government contracts. I can’t count the number of times other business owners have asked for my help in simplifying the complexity of the process and how to better position themselves in the government contracting arena. I truly enjoy helping others and am now expanding my business to continue aligning my passion with my purpose by offering coaching services to tenacious entrepreneurs who want to put their best efforts forward to outperform competing companies.

As the world’s largest buyer of products and services, the U.S. government purchases nearly $200 billion a year in almost every category of commodities and services. By law, federal agencies are required to establish contracting goals whereby 23% of government buys are intended to go to small businesses. Additionally, contract goals are established specifically for women-owned businesses (5%), small disadvantaged businesses (5%), firms located in HUBZones (3%), and service disabled veteran-owned businesses (3%). While not always achieved, these government-wide goals are important because federal agencies have a statutory obligation to reach out and consider small businesses for procurement opportunities.  It is a long, arduous and bureaucratic process - replete with its own set of complex and constantly changing/updated requirements, procedures, acronyms, language and certifications.

The team at JTJ Resources Coaching Services will simplify all of this complexity for you and place you on the right course of actions to elevate your game in being awarded government contracts, while saving you precious time to focus on other aspects of building and managing your business.
